Vilglad (Vildagliptin)

Vildagliptin is an oral antidiabetic medication from the DPP‑4 inhibitor class, used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes. By blocking the DPP‑4 enzyme, vildagliptin increases levels of incretin hormones that stimulate insulin release and reduce glucagon secretion when blood glucose levels are elevated. It is commonly used as monotherapy when metformin is not tolerated, or as part of combination therapy with metformin, sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, or insulin.
