Afatek (Afatinib)

Afatinib is an antineoplastic agent used for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with non-resistant EGFR mutations or resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy.

Main Uses

• Treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR mutations (exon 19 deletions or exon 21 substitution mutations).
• May also be used for metastatic NSCLC and other cancers as directed by an oncologist.

Contraindications / Precautions

• Hypersensitivity to Afatinib or any component of the formulation
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment
• Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Not recommended (can cause fetal harm)
