Aggrastat (Tirofiban Hydrochloride)

Tirofiban Hydrochloride is a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor inhibitor that works as a potent antiplatelet agent. It is indicated for use in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including unstable angina and non–ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). By preventing platelet aggregation, Aggrastat helps reduce the risk of thrombotic cardiovascular events, particularly during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.

Main Use:

• Treatment and prevention of acute coronary syndrome (ACS)
• Used as an adjunct to heparin and aspirin during PCI or angioplasty
• Reduces the risk of myocardial infarction and thrombotic complications

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to Tirofiban or any component of the formulation
• Active internal bleeding or history of bleeding disorders
• Severe uncontrolled hypertension
• History of stroke within the past 30 days or any hemorrhagic stroke
• Major surgery or trauma within the previous month
