Askey (Cetirizine Hydrochloride)

Cetirizine, also known as an orally active second-generation histamine H1 antagonist, is effective in treating various allergic symptoms like sneezing, coughing, nasal congestion, hives, and others. One of its primary uses is for allergic rhinitis, a condition affecting up to 30% of individuals in the United States based on self-reported nasal symptoms, leading to missed work or school days, sleep disturbances, and other disruptions to daily life. Furthermore, unlike some antihistamines prone to causing sedation, cetirizine is among the first second-generation H1 antihistamines designed to selectively inhibit the H1 receptor without inducing drowsiness.
