Description: Azelastine nasal spray alleviates symptoms such as stuffy or runny nose, itching, and sneezing caused by seasonal (short-term) or perennial (year-round) allergic rhinitis (hay fever), vasomotor rhinitis, or other upper respiratory allergies. It is an antihistamine.
Azelastine is an antihistamine, not steroid, that prevents the effects of histamine, a substance produced by the body. Histamine can lead to symptoms such as itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes.
Use: Azelastine is available as a nasal spray liquid. It is typically sprayed into each nostril once or twice daily. Follow the instructions on your prescription label carefully and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Use the spray exactly as directed; do not use more or less than prescribed.
Children under 12 should be assisted by an adult when using azelastine nasal spray, and children under 6 should not use over-the-counter versions of the spray.
The nasal spray is intended for use in the nose only. Do not swallow it, and be careful to avoid spraying it into your eyes or mouth.
Each bottle is for individual use only—do not share it to prevent the spread of germs.
While azelastine nasal spray helps control hay fever or allergy symptoms, it does not cure these conditions.
The spray bottle is designed to provide a specific number of sprays. After reaching the marked number, the remaining sprays may not contain the correct dosage. Keep track of the number of sprays used and dispose of the bottle after using the specified amount, even if some liquid remains.
Storage: Keep it at room temperature, away from heat and moisture (avoid storing it in the bathroom).
