Azilide (Azithromycin)

Azithromycin is an antibiotic belonging to the macrolide class, commonly used to treat a variety of bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and sexually transmitted diseases. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thus halting the growth of bacteria.
