Cilantin (Cisplatin)

Cisplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy drug that works by binding to DNA, causing cross-links that prevent DNA replication and transcription, ultimately leading to cancer cell death. It is one of the most widely used cytotoxic chemotherapy agents.

Main Uses

Cisplatin is used alone or in combination to treat several types of cancers, including:

• Lung cancer (both small cell and non-small cell)

Contraindications

• Hearing impairment (risk of ototoxicity)
