Actrapid (Human Regular Insulin, RDNA 100IU / mL)

Actrapid is a fast-acting human insulin used to control blood glucose in people with diabetes mellitus, including type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes, and in emergency situations such as diabetic ketoacidosis.

Actrapid acts by helping glucose enter cells from the bloodstream, allowing the body to use glucose for energy and store it in the liver, muscle, and fat tissue. It is fast-acting, starts lowering blood sugar approximately 30 minutes after subcutaneous injection, peaks at 1.5–3.5 hours, and lasts for about 7–8 hours.

The usual dose ranges from 0.3 to 1.0 international units per kilogram of body weight per day, adjusted according to blood glucose monitoring and individual needs.
