Niltib (Nilotinib)

Nilotinib is a kinase inhibitor used for the chronic phase treatment of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) that is Philadelphia chromosome positive and for the treatment of CML that is resistant to therapy containing imatinib.

Main Uses

Treatment of Philadelphia chromosome–positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML) in:

• Newly diagnosed adult patients (chronic phase)
• Patients resistant or intolerant to prior therapy (including imatinib)

Contraindications / Precautions

• Hypersensitivity to nilotinib or excipients
• Avoid in patients with significant cardiac disorders (QT prolongation, arrhythmias)
• Caution in patients with hepatic impairment
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: not recommended
