Novazol 2% Cream 15g (Ketoconazole)

Ketoconazole is an antifungal medication belonging to the imidazole class. It works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased permeability and cell death.

Main Uses

Ketoconazole cream is used for treating fungal skin infections including:

• Tinea infections (athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm)
• Seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff, cradle cap)
• Pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor)

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any imidazole antifungal agents. Avoid application on broken or inflamed skin without medical approval.

Directions and Dosage

• Adults (18+ years): Apply a thin layer to affected area once or twice daily. Maximum duration: 4 weeks for most infections.
• Adolescents (12-17 years): Apply as directed for adults. Use under supervision if needed.
• Children (2-11 years): Apply small amount to affected area once daily. Maximum duration: 2 weeks.

Not recommended for children under 2 years without medical advice. Avoid using on large areas of skin or under tight dressings.

Special Precautions

• Discontinue use if severe irritation develops
• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
• Do not use on nail or scalp infections without proper diagnosis
