Osmofundin (Mannitol)

Mannitol Solution for IV Infusion by B. Braun is an osmotic diuretic used to reduce elevated intracranial and intraocular pressure, promote diuresis in acute renal failure, and enhance urinary excretion of toxins.

Main Uses:

• Reduction of raised intracranial pressure (cerebral edema)
• Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (glaucoma, ocular surgery)
• Promotion of urine output in acute renal failure (oliguria, anuria)
• Adjunct in toxic substance elimination (e.g., drug intoxication)

Contraindications:

• Severe dehydration
• Active intracranial bleeding (except during craniotomy)
• Anuria unresponsive to test dose
• Severe pulmonary edema or heart failure
• Established renal failure with no urine output
