Teldy (Dolutegravir + Lamivudine + Tenofovir)

TELDY (TLD) is a once-daily, single-pill antiretroviral therapy (ART) that combines three drugs: 

Dolutegravir (50 mg)
Lamivudine (300 mg)
Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300 mg) 

This combination is widely used as a highly effective first-line treatment recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). 

Key Information

Function: TLD works by stopping HIV from making copies of itself in the body, which helps to reduce the viral load to an undetectable level. This protects the immune system and prevents the transmission of the virus to others.

Usage: It is indicated for adults and adolescents weighing at least 40 kg. It is typically taken once daily with or without food.

Side Effects & Interactions: Side effects may include difficulty sleeping or mood changes, which is why it's often recommended to take it in the morning. It should not be taken at the same time as certain antacids or supplements containing calcium, magnesium, or aluminum.

Availability: TLD is a cost-effective generic medication widely available in low and middle-income countries. It is not available for sale in certain high-income countries like the U.S. and most of Europe due to patent restrictions.
