1. Hepatitis A Vaccine:
- Hepatitis A vaccine can prevent hepatitis A, a serious liver disease.
- It is usually spread through close contact with an infected person or ingestion of contaminated food or water.
- Most adults with hepatitis A experience symptoms, while children under 6 years of age often do not.
- The vaccine is recommended for children, travelers, men who have sex with men, and individuals with specific risk factors.
- Infants traveling internationally should receive an early dose for protection.
2. Hepatitis B Vaccine:
- Hepatitis B vaccine protects against hepatitis B, another serious liver disease caused by the Hepatitis B virus.
- The vaccine is administered in a 3-dose series.
- Adults up to age 59 who haven't been vaccinated should get the vaccine.
- Combination vaccines (such as Twinrix) protect against both hepatitis A and B.
