J.CHEMIE (Povidone Iodine 10%)

Povidone Iodine 10% is a powerful antiseptic solution widely used for preventing infections in minor cuts, wounds, and burns. It acts as a disinfectant by releasing iodine, which helps kill a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Ideal for pre-operative skin preparation and wound care, it is also commonly used in medical and home settings for sanitizing skin prior to injections and treating minor skin infections. This solution is non-staining and gentle on the skin while offering reliable protection against infections.

The 10% solution is used most often to disinfect skin, but it also comes in diluted concentrations as low as 0.3%. Common side effects seen with both povidone-iodine eye drops and skin formulations include local swelling, irritation, itching, and rash. With overuse, povidone-iodine can have corrosive effects.

POVIDONE IODINE (poe-vee-don ahy-uh-din) is used on the skin to decrease risk of infection. This medicine is also used as a surgical hand scrub and to wash the skin and surface of the eye before surgery to help prevent infections. This medicine is for external use only.
