Description: This medicine is used for management of hypertension and prophylaxis of angina pectoris. It is used to lower your hypertension both in adults at and children.
Dosage: Normal starting dose for hypertension is 5 mg once daily. if need, upped to 10 mg once daily. Similar dosages are used to treat Prinzmetal's angina as well as stable angina, or as directed by a doctor. Follow the dosage written or told by your doctor.
Contraindication: It shouldn't be taken in cases of acute unstable angina, cardiogenic shock, or in patients who have recently experienced a myocardial infarction. When someone has chronic stable angina, it shouldn't be utilized to treat an anginal attack. It may raise the risk of cardiac failure in patients with severe aortic stenosis.
Special Precautions: Do not take this medicine if not instructed you to do so. It may lead to unwanted outcomes. Also, this medicine has side effects so prevent being overdosed. Since there has been evidence of heart failure worsening, amlodipine should be taken cautiously in individuals with hypotension, low cardiac reserve, and heart failure. In light of this, use during pregnancy is only advised in cases when there is no safer substitute and the disease itself poses a larger risk to the mother and fetus.
